Upcoming projects
After the pandemic period Morocco has opened its frontiers again for visitors from all over the world. Cultural activities of all kinds are flourishing again and the numerous traditional festivals all over the country have woken up again and given new editions. Thus high time to use my spaces and resources and thereby find for inspiration, creative energy and time to fulfill your projects.
In Sweden and Morocco
- Traditional Dance Cultures of the World – Digital
Seminars with an anthropological and movement analytical approach.
In Oulad Driss / Southern Morocco
- Kasbah Sellman
is situated in the small village Ksar Oulad Driss in the middle of an oasis just a few kilometers from the edge of the great Sahara desert in southern Morocco.
More than 400 years old, the Kasbah Complex at my disposal consists of four adjacent parts. Water and electricity are already in place. There I plan to create cultural meeting places for local inhabitants, especially youngsters, children and women as well as for both Moroccan and foreign visitors.
I hope to be able to rehabilitate and restore these traditional buildings in accordance with UNESCOs recommendations and in collaboration with CERKAS, a state institute already engaged in safeguarding Morocco’s cultural heritage in the Kasbah valleys of southern Morocco.
The larger meeting place will be in the oldest part of Kasbah Sellman called The Sun Wheel Center – with its unique old mystical wall paintings. After restoration it can be used for various cultural activities. In another space on the upper floor of an adjacent building there will be a small open-air theater called – The Moon Theater where performers will be able to be heard using only their natural voices without loud speakers or microphones.
On the ruins of a former goat and chicken compound – The Arabesca Hideaway Café is slowly taking shape. Two small stages for performances and storytelling, as well as lanterns and some traditional handcrafted chairs and tables, are already in place to receive guests. The Kasbah complex will after restoration also be able to offer some Residences for Artists and Writers.
- World Nomadic Architecture Park
Enter this garden in the Oasis of Bounou in Southern Morocco, right on the edge of the desert. Engage yourself, contribute and become a donator or help us to find sponsors for one of the upcoming nomadic dwellings: a Sahara Tent, a North American Tipi, a Mongolian yurt, a Sami Hut from the Nordic countries placed in each corner, or the planned CaidalTent in the middle where seminars may be held in the future and small meals be served on special occasions.
But already now you can enjoy the surrounding landscape of tamarisk bushes and palm trees that seem to reach the sky. Stay here for a while to reflect on what is important in life, what it is that might make the world a little better.
This is a place where you may find inspiration, energy and space for your creativity. Come to relax, meditate or just to dance along and sing with the wind. Far away from your homeland perhaps – but closer to your own soul.
